Join Northrop Grumman as a Staff Cyber Systems Engineer Lead in a remote position that offers you the chance to work on revolutionary systems impacting lives globally. As a Staff Cyber Systems Engineer Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the security posture of our Digital Ecosystem (DE) across its lifecycle. This position allows you to leverage your expertise in cybersecurity while leading a team of talented engineers.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the DE MDT by recruiting a balanced mix of software security analysts, platform engineers, and cyber operations specialists.
  • Design a resilient, modular security framework for mission-engineering applications, ensuring compliance with NIST/DoD standards.
  • Drive the end-to-end Risk Management Framework (RMF) process, producing essential security documentation.
  • Integrate security practices into the software lifecycle, embedding secure coding standards and automated scanning into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Mentor junior engineers through workshops and sessions focused on threat modeling and secure development.
  • Oversee supply chain integrity by conducting provenance checks and risk assessments for third-party components.
  • Lead incident response efforts, coordinating with cyber operations to manage breaches effectively.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align security requirements with mission objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 10 years of experience.
  • Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Minimum of 5 years in system security engineering, threat modeling, and security architecture.
  • Experience with secure coding, static/dynamic analysis, and AI/ML model protection.
  • Proficiency in hardening cloud/on-prem infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Nice to Have

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance.
  • Experience with cyber test automation tools like OpenSCAP and Snyk.
  • Proven record of implementing DevSecOps pipelines.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML model governance and incident response playbooks.
