Software Engineer - Satellite Ground Software Development

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer for Satellite Ground Software Development to join our dynamic team at Northrop Grumman. This Software Engineer remote position focuses on the development, integration, deployment, and sustainment of satellite ground software, providing you with the opportunity to work on revolutionary systems that impact lives globally.

What You'll Do

• Engage in full stack development at the OS, platform, and mission unique software layer.
• Develop client and server applications using service-oriented architectures and message bus-based data exchange.
• Utilize languages and tools including C++, Python, Postgres, Ansible, and cloud infrastructure provisioning.
• Implement software that provides command and control functionality of hardware systems.
• Enable activity planning and constraint checking to achieve mission outcomes.
• Visualize complex environments in both 2D and 3D, incorporating intelligent context and user-centric interface design.
• Run training and simulation events, addressing technical issues in real-time.
• Collaborate with customers during training events and customer interactions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of development experience (or 0 years with a Master’s Degree) in Python and C++.
• Experience can be considered in lieu of degree (4 additional years of experience).
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI/SAP.
• Familiarity with Agile programs, software architecture documentation, and deployment processes.
• US Citizenship is required.

Nice to Have

• Active TS/SCI Security Clearance.
• Experience developing satellite ground software for spacecraft missions, including Command and Control and Mission Planning.
• Experience with Linux, Ansible, Docker, and UI/UX design.
