Engineering Manager - Prisma AIRS Team (Remote)
About the Role
We are seeking an Engineering Manager for the Prisma AIRS team at Palo Alto Networks. As an Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of cybersecurity while working remotely. What You'll Do
- Lead and mentor a small team of engineers, conducting regular one-on-ones and providing feedback to support their professional growth.
- Actively contribute as a backend engineer, taking ownership of complex features from design through implementation and deployment.
- Plan and manage the team’s sprint goals and project timelines, ensuring successful delivery of the product roadmap.
- Conduct code and architecture reviews, setting high standards for engineering quality and ensuring scalable and maintainable solutions.
- Collaborate closely with product managers and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical tasks for the team.
Requirements
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 7+ years of professional software development experience, with expertise in backend development.
- 1+ years of experience in a leadership capacity, such as a Tech Lead or Engineering Manager.
- Strong hands-on coding skills in Python or Golang, with experience building scalable distributed systems.
- Familiarity with GCP (Google Cloud Platform) and relational databases (SQL).
- Proven ability to lead technical discussions and guide a team in making architectural decisions.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working in a collaborative, agile environment.
- A passion for managing and mentoring engineers while being an active individual contributor.
Nice to Have
- Experience transitioning from a senior individual contributor role to a leadership position.
- Familiarity with full-stack development, including modern frontend technologies.
- Experience in the cybersecurity or AI/ML domain.
- Experience working with a team split across multiple time zones and geographies.
