Software Engineer - Mission Planning Systems (Remote)
About the Role
We're hiring a Software Engineer - Mission Planning Systems to join our innovative team at Northrop Grumman. This role offers the opportunity to work remotely while contributing to cutting-edge technology that impacts lives globally. As a Software Engineer, you will be involved in the full software product lifecycle within an Agile Scrum framework, ensuring that your contributions help shape the future of mission planning systems.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, document, test, and debug applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions while ensuring software standards are met.
- Maintain and improve the software CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, bug-free delivery of critical business software to production.
- Set up and deploy Development, Test, and Build environments to support various software projects.
- Create and update Windows installers for software distribution.
- Collaborate within a cross-functional Scrum team to develop high-priority mission planning features.
- Understand third-party software and hardware peripherals to support the implementation of software interfaces and integration.
- Develop software test products such as Verification Cross Reference Matrices to tie software requirements to software tests.
- Compile data and define changes required in testing procedures or new testing requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in STEM with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in STEM with no experience, or 6 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Current DoD Secret Clearance (adjudicated within the last 5 years), with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
- Knowledge of C# and other object-oriented programming languages such as Java and C++.
- Experience using Microsoft Windows Technologies (e.g., .NET Framework, WinForms).
- Proficient in one or more scripting languages: PowerShell, Batch, or Python.
- Understanding of version control systems (Git) and familiarity with debugging at the code level.
- Experience with SonarQube or other static code analysis frameworks.
Nice to Have
- Joint Mission Planning System development experience.
- Service hosting and inter-process communication experience.
- Experience managing Microservices.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
