Software Engineer (Level 2) - Remote Opportunity in Global Surveillance

We are seeking a Software Engineer (Level 2) - Remote to join our Global Surveillance Division at Northrop Grumman. What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, and enhance advanced software solutions focused on laboratory test bench virtualization.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and support the design of effective solutions.
  • Assist in implementing virtualization builds, releases, deployments, and configurations of the virtual lab environment.
  • Develop automation scripts for provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management of lab resources.
  • Create CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery of lab images, updates, and patches.
  • Produce comprehensive documentation including design diagrams and user guides.
  • Work closely with domain experts to translate experimental procedures into reproducible virtual workflows.
  • Ensure that different modules and systems work together seamlessly and meet testing standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 2 years of related experience, or a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance or higher.
  • Experience working in Linux environments (e.g., RHEL, Debian).
  • Experience using Git or similar version control systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to driving innovative improvements.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with virtualization and creating virtual machines.
  • Understanding of networking concepts (e.g., DNS, DHCP).
  • Experience with configuring firewalls and reverse proxy software.
  • Ability to obtain a RedHat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification.
