Software Engineer - Data Cloud for Blockchain Solutions

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer - Data Cloud to join our innovative team at Chainalysis. As a key player in our engineering team, you will tackle some of the hardest technical challenges while contributing to products that build trust in cryptocurrencies. This Software Engineer remote position allows you to work with a diverse and global team, including members from the UK, Denmark, Canada, and the USA. You will help us adapt to rapid changes in the blockchain industry by creating a flexible data platform that empowers our teams to discover, access, analyze, and build on data efficiently.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and optimize high-performance, scalable data platforms with a focus on streaming data processing and cloud infrastructure.
• Implement and maintain infrastructure automation and self-service using Terraform to ensure reliable and repeatable environments.
• Build seamless integrations between Data Cloud and various relational and noSQL OLTP databases.
• Design frameworks and abstractions to accelerate the development of data pipelines while embedding data engineering best practices.
• Establish observability, security, and data governance solutions to ensure high quality and reliability of data pipelines.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Data Platform Engineer, Software Engineer, or Infrastructure Engineer, with expertise in building cloud-based data platforms.
• Solid experience with AWS services and proficiency in Terraform for managing cloud infrastructure.
• Experience building streaming data pipelines using technologies like Apache Flink, Apache Kafka, or Spark Structured Streaming.
• Knowledge of modern data lakehouse architectures and ecosystems such as Kafka, Flink, Spark, Databricks, and comfort with Python/Java and SQL.
• Familiarity with networking and security concepts within AWS, including VPCs, subnets, routing, and IAM.

Nice to Have Experience

• Exposure to or interest in the cryptocurrency technology ecosystem.
• Experience working with different blockchain technologies.
• Experience in a SaaS or FinTech company.
