Software Development Engineer (Java) - Hybrid Role

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Software Development Engineer (Java) remote to join our dynamic team at Tesco Technology. In this hybrid role, you will work from our Budapest office three days a week while enjoying the flexibility of remote work. As a Software Development Engineer (Java), you will leverage your expertise in backend technologies to develop software that enhances the daily lives of our customers and colleagues.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain robust software applications using Java.
• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of IDE, language, and toolset in Java.
• Comfortably test drive features and profile and optimize code for performance.
• Identify and apply appropriate design patterns to solve complex problems.
• Utilize your understanding of SOLID principles to create cohesive and maintainable code.
• Script and automate processes within the relevant environment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Lean and Agile environments.
• Work with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.

Requirements

• Experience operating in cloud environments (AWS or Azure).
• Familiarity with NoSQL technologies (Redis, MongoDB, etc.).
• Exposure to frameworks and libraries like Spring Boot or Micronaut.
• Experience using Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and application monitoring.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, including BDD, ATDD, and TDD.

Nice to Have

• Experience with microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of frontend technologies (UI/UX).
• Familiarity with DevOps practices.
