Senior UX/​UI Designer & Front-End Developer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior UX/UI Designer & Front-End Developer to join our dynamic team in a fully remote capacity. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in transforming our platform from legacy desktop tools to modern, web-native experiences that revolutionize how engineers model, analyze, and optimize complex systems globally. As a Senior UX/UI Designer & Front-End Developer, you will lead the UX vision and drive front-end excellence, ensuring our products meet the highest standards of usability and performance.

What You'll Do

• Lead the UX vision for next-gen web-based engineering tools, translating complex scientific workflows into intuitive interfaces.
• Conduct user research, create wireframes and prototypes, and establish design standards to ensure user-centric evolution across products.
• Implement high-performance user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, developing reusable component libraries.
• Mentor junior developers and designers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Influence tech stack decisions for long-term scalability and performance.

Requirements

• Proven experience in complex software UX/UI design with strong interaction design principles.
• Hands-on experience with modern web development technologies, particularly React.
• Strong collaboration skills with engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of design and functionality.
• Experience in user research with specialist users and proficiency in prototyping tools like Figma.
• Ability to mentor and guide junior team members.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Electron or hybrid frameworks.
• Experience in developing design systems and working on complex domain applications.
• Previous mentoring experience in a collaborative environment.
