Senior UX Designer - Remote Position at NHS Scotland

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior UX Designer to join NHS Scotland, a remote-friendly employer, to help transform health and social care services across Scotland. As a Senior UX Designer remote, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing user experiences for public-facing digital services.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to design user-centered interfaces for accessible, mobile-enabled websites and applications.
• Lead workshops, usability studies, and presentations to communicate design outputs effectively.
• Utilize your extensive experience in UX design to contribute to the development of websites, software applications, and mobile apps.
• Work on projects from discovery to delivery, ensuring a user-centered approach throughout the design process.
• Engage in continuous improvement of design systems and methodologies within the organization.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a UX Designer with a strong portfolio showcasing your work on websites and applications.
• Deep understanding of UX design techniques and user interface principles.
• Ability to facilitate workshops and usability studies, leading to actionable design improvements.
• Excellent communication skills to convey design concepts clearly to stakeholders.
• Experience working in a collaborative environment with designers, developers, and service owners.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud-based technologies and digital transformation projects.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and user-centered design processes.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices in UX design.
