Intermediate Software Engineer - AI & Health Tech
About the Role
We're hiring an Intermediate Software Engineer to join our team at Groov. This Intermediate Software Engineer remote position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of AI, healthcare, and technology. You'll be part of a team dedicated to building systems that understand people and support them using data and AI, ultimately improving health outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Build and ship features across both Groov PerformanceCare and Groov Health product lines.
- Develop and iterate on AI-powered conversational experiences using AWS Bedrock and frontier models.
- Integrate with workplace platforms like MS365, Slack, and Teams to deliver insights in the flow of work.
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code across the technology stack.
- Build reusable components, libraries, and frameworks to enhance development efficiency.
- Collaborate with product managers and engineering leads to translate requirements into pragmatic technical solutions.
- Debug and resolve production issues efficiently while optimizing application performance and system reliability.
- Participate in architectural discussions and technical design processes.
Requirements
- New Zealand citizen or permanent resident.
- 4+ years of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in C# and experience with the .NET framework.
- Experience with web technologies including React and TypeScript.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience building with LLM APIs (AWS Bedrock, OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar).
- AWS experience and knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, ECS).
- Experience with microservices and serverless computing.
- Knowledge of message brokers such as RabbitMQ or AWS SQS.
- Understanding of UI/UX principles and responsive design.
What We Offer
- $105,000 - $130,000 NZD annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
