Senior Tableau and Python Developer - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Tableau and Python Developer to join our team at UnitedHealth Group. This remote position allows you to work from anywhere within the United States, providing flexibility to balance your professional and personal commitments. In this role, you will design, develop, and implement advanced dashboards and automation solutions tailored for State Government markets. Your expertise in data visualization and analytics will be crucial in translating complex data into actionable insights that inform decision-making and improve operational efficiencies.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop Tableau dashboards and reports in a timely manner, ensuring they meet the needs of our clients.
• Collaborate closely with ETL specialists to gather data requirements and resolve data issues.
• Develop Python-based transaction engines and automation tools to streamline reporting processes.
• Support external client User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and plan for the deployment of dashboards and automation solutions.
• Create comprehensive visualizations that provide meaningful insights and lead client data education workshops.
• Perform detailed data analysis to assess the structure, content, and quality of source data.
• Execute complex SQL queries to support reporting requirements and enhance established standards for BI technologies.
• Regularly present quarterly updates on project progress to senior leadership, sharing insights gained and lessons learned.

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of experience in developing Tableau dashboards and Python programming.
• Strong technical foundation in data analysis, with at least three years of experience in Business Objects and one year with Teradata.
• Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and joins.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of delivering technical and business-level presentations.
• Familiarity with MS Office products and the ability to travel up to 10% as required by client engagements.

Nice to Have

• Experience in Medicaid, Medicare, or commercial payer environments.
• Familiarity with claims data and healthcare data analytics.
