About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer II - Unreal Engine 5 Remote to join our innovative team at Blizzard Entertainment. In this role, you will help craft genre-defining games and legendary worlds that resonate with players worldwide. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will work closely with designers and gameplay engineers to ensure our games run efficiently across multiple platforms, leveraging the power of Unreal Engine 5.

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement new features within Unreal Engine 5, collaborating with artists, designers, and engineers to meet project requirements.
  • Optimize Unreal Engine 5 performance and functionality across various hardware platforms.
  • Act as a primary point-of-contact for the development team on all engine-related issues, providing guidance to maximize engine performance.
  • Work with project leadership to identify, prioritize, and implement improvements for engine-based workflows.
  • Assist in ensuring the project ambitions are realized and executed optimally on the host hardware.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience as an Engine Engineer using Unreal Engine 5, with a preference for those who have shipped or launched a UE5 game.
  • Proficient in writing C++ code with a deep understanding of both historical patterns and modern language features.
  • Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms, including their appropriate use cases.
  • Experience with multithreading, performance analysis, and code optimization.
  • Proven track record of shipping games on multiple platforms and working with AAA third-party game engines.

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience leading and mentoring a team of engineers.
  • Familiarity with C#.
  • A degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Strong documentation philosophies to capture and evangelize best practices.
