About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Support Specialist / Linux Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team at mijn.host. This fully remote position allows you to work from anywhere while tackling complex technical challenges in the web hosting industry. As a Senior Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining our high-performance hosting platform.

What You'll Do

  • Resolve complex and high-impact technical issues, taking ownership of escalated support tickets.
  • Diagnose problems deeply and communicate effectively with customers to provide clear solutions.
  • Manage and maintain Linux-based hosting environments, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Perform server updates, upgrades, and new server deployments to enhance our infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with the team using Slack, contributing to a fully remote and distributed work environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in hosting, Linux system administration, or similar roles.
  • Strong experience with Linux (CLI/SSH) and solid knowledge of Apache, DNS, FTP, and Linux firewalls.
  • Proven experience in the web hosting industry is a must.
  • Experience managing production servers independently and handling escalations.
  • Strong written English communication skills are essential.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with WordPress and common CMS environments.
  • Knowledge of MySQL and PHP, as well as Node.js and/or Python.
  • Dutch language skills are a plus.
