Consultant Cellular Pathologist - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Consultant Cellular Pathologist to join our team at the States of Guernsey. This remote Consultant Cellular Pathologist position has been created due to an increase in histopathology workloads and the demands of cancer multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings. The ideal candidate will have a special interest in two or three disciplines, particularly in urology and skin pathology or GIT and breast pathology. However, we welcome any combination of specialties.

What You'll Do

• Provide expert pathology services in a remote capacity, focusing on cancer and benign workloads.
• Collaborate with the existing pathology team to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Participate in MDT meetings and contribute to discussions regarding patient management.
• Engage in continuous professional development and maintain up-to-date knowledge of pathology practices.
• Support the training of junior staff and contribute to the development of departmental protocols.

Requirements

• Medical degree and specialization in pathology.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Consultant Cellular Pathologist.
• Proven track record in histopathology, particularly in cancer diagnostics.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a remote setting.
• Eligibility for an 8-year Long Term Employment Permit in Guernsey.

Nice to Have

• Experience with digital pathology tools.
• Research experience in pathology or related fields.
• Leadership experience in a clinical setting.
