Senior Remote Physiotherapist - Triage & Assessment Specialist
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Remote Physiotherapist to join our innovative team at Montu UK. In this role, you will act as our senior triage physiotherapist, reviewing referrals and clinical documentation through structured telephone and video assessments. This position allows you to make a significant impact on patient care while working remotely, ensuring that patients are directed to the appropriate clinical pathways.
What You'll Do
- Perform comprehensive triage of referrals and medical records to determine urgency, risk, and appropriate care pathways.
- Conduct telephone and video triage using internal policies and best practices to support decision-making.
- Identify exclusions, contraindications, and safeguarding concerns, escalating as necessary in line with Montu policies.
- Provide accurate and timely record-keeping to support care coordination.
- Lead or contribute to pathway audits, SOP updates, and outcome measurement initiatives.
- Champion clinical governance, incident reporting, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Support the creation of patient education materials and digital triage scripts.
- Contribute to service development for physiotherapists within the company.
Requirements
- HCPC-registered Physiotherapist; member of CSP (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5 years post-registration experience, with at least 2 years at Band 6+ level.
- Strong clinical background with demonstrable expertise in remote/telephone triage.
- Advanced clinical reasoning and confident autonomous decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to translate complex information into patient-friendly language.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, tech-enabled environment (EMRs, telehealth platforms).
- Understanding of safeguarding, GDPR, and clinical governance frameworks.
Nice to Have
- Experience in pain management services or cannabis-based medicinal products.
- Prior work within a start-up/scale-up or busy healthcare setting.
- Experience creating SOPs, audits, or service redesign projects.
