Manager of Data Security - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Manager of Data Security to join our team at IDEXX. This remote position offers a unique opportunity to lead our enterprise data protection initiatives across global platforms. The role combines strategic leadership with technical expertise, focusing on developing cloud-first security strategies and ensuring compliance with global regulations.

What You'll Do

• Oversee the Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) platform, ensuring comprehensive data discovery and monitoring across cloud, on-prem, and SaaS environments.
• Establish visibility into sensitive data, driving systematic risk identification and remediation to reduce exposure and over-privileged access.
• Lead the strategy and execution of global data protection initiatives, implementing advanced technologies such as DLP, CSPM, and AI-driven detection.
• Build and mentor high-performing teams, defining a clear roadmap for IDEXX's data security functions.
• Drive partnerships across engineering, product, and business teams to align security outcomes with compliance and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• 7-10 years of experience in cybersecurity, data protection, or data engineering.
• 3-5+ years of leadership experience managing technical security teams.
• Expertise in enterprise-class data protection and DSPM operations.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and modern data architectures.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related field.

• Advanced certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.
• Experience in regulated environments like healthcare or life sciences.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java.
