Senior Python Developer - Remote Opportunity with Relocation Support

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Python Developer to join our dynamic team at hackajob. This remote Senior Python Developer position offers an exciting opportunity to work with Hippo Digital UK, where you will contribute to building user-centered digital solutions that provide real value. As a Senior Python Developer, you will leverage your expertise to drive technical deliverables and maintain strong client relationships, all while fostering the development of your team.

What You'll Do

• Act as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) within your squad, ensuring user-centered software is developed based on business requirements and best practices.
• Collaborate with colleagues to design and deliver innovative solutions to client challenges.
• Design and manage software development and deployment pipelines, proactively resolving issues and potential bottlenecks.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, presenting prototypes and progress updates clearly and concisely.
• Build strong relationships with your team and stakeholders, ensuring challenges are addressed and overcome.
• Participate in the recruitment of engineers and support the professional development of consultants.
• Promote Hippo’s Engineering Herd through blogs, workshops, seminars, and conferences.

Requirements

• Expert experience with Python and related technologies such as Django, Flask, and FastAPI.
• Proficient in AWS Serverless architecture and deployment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with the full development lifecycle, delivering user-centered digital solutions.
• Full stack development experience, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with JavaScript libraries and frameworks, such as Node, React, or Angular.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of microservices design and architecture, as well as RESTful API services.
• Experience working within agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, or ARM.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, AWS CodeBuild, Azure DevOps, and Atlassian.
• Previous experience with GOV/NHS projects is highly desirable.

Nice to Have

• Experience in mentoring junior developers.
• Knowledge of additional programming languages.
• Experience with user experience (UX) design principles.
