Software Engineer - macOS/​Swift Remote Position

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate Software Engineer - macOS/Swift remote position to join our dynamic team at STARFACE. If you have a strong background in macOS development and enjoy implementing new features, this role is perfect for you!

What You'll Do

• Develop, maintain, and enhance the STARFACE Mac Client using Swift.
• Implement new features in close collaboration with product management and UX teams.
• Refactor and maintain existing codebases to ensure high performance and reliability.
• Analyze and fix bugs to improve application stability and server components.
• Integrate backend interfaces and ensure compatibility with current macOS versions and Apple guidelines.
• Participate in architectural and design decisions within agile development teams (Scrum/Kanban).
• Create and maintain technical documentation for future reference.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new features.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification.
• Strong passion for programming with a high quality standard.
• Excellent knowledge of macOS development, specifically with Swift, Cocoa/Cocoa Touch, and AppKit.
• Experience with Xcode and common Apple developer tools.
• Familiarity with Objective-C and React is a plus.
• Experience using AI tools (Cursor, Claude, Jetbrains Junie, etc.).
• Knowledge of software architecture, Clean Code, and design patterns.
• Proficient in version control systems (Git/Gitlab).
• Ideally, knowledge in VoIP/SIP network communication and multithreading/performance optimization.
• Good command of both German and English.

Nice to Have

• Experience in agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment practices.
• Understanding of user experience design principles.
