Senior Oracle Database Administrator - Remote Position

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Oracle Database Administrator to join our team in a fully remote capacity. As a Senior Oracle Database Administrator, you will leverage your extensive experience to optimize and manage Oracle databases, ensuring high performance and availability. This role is ideal for seasoned professionals looking to make a significant impact in a dynamic environment.

What You'll Do

• Advise on data models that facilitate efficient query execution.
• Analyze and optimize SQL statement execution plans to enhance database performance.
• Monitor and troubleshoot performance testing systems, providing in-depth diagnosis and resolution of issues.
• Ensure successful application and database implementations, maximizing system availability and security.
• Interact with key stakeholders, including Cloud Operations and Information Security, to fulfill service requests and support database services.
• Support DBA utilities, including reorgs, index builds, and exports/imports using tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager.
• Analyze database system performance, conducting triage and resolution for performance-related incidents.
• Provide database expertise to project teams to enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience administering Oracle databases.
• Experience with SQL Server databases is a plus.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting complex issues and analyzing execution plans.
• In-depth understanding of Oracle internals, including memory pools and wait events.
• Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems and optimal OS configuration.
• Hands-on experience in planning, installing, configuring, and maintaining Oracle databases.
• Skilled in shell scripting and data modeling for high throughput.
• Strong communication skills to interact with stakeholders effectively.

Nice to Have

• Experience with multi-terabyte databases.
• Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager and AWR reports.
• Knowledge of cloud-based database solutions.
