Senior Manager, Financial Risk - Remote Position in Crypto

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Financial Risk to join our team remotely. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and building the financial risk architecture that underpins Kraken’s products and treasury operations. As a Senior Manager, Financial Risk remote position, you will help shape how we manage financial risks associated with crypto markets, ensuring that our innovative products can launch safely and securely.

What You'll Do

• Design and evolve Kraken’s financial risk frameworks covering counterparty risk, treasury risk, and payment rails.
• Define exposure methodologies and risk limits for exchanges, custodians, banks, liquidity providers, and DeFi protocols.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to evaluate and shape new products before launch.
• Build scenario frameworks to model extreme crypto market conditions such as stablecoin depegs and liquidity crises.
• Evaluate financial risks across Kraken’s external ecosystem including liquidity providers and market makers.
• Collaborate with Treasury to assess risks related to firm investments and liquidity management.
• Help design tools and data systems used to measure and visualize financial risk across Kraken.
• Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in financial risk, treasury risk, credit risk, or product risk.
• Experience at a major bank, trading firm, asset manager, fintech, or crypto company.
• Strong understanding of financial markets, liquidity risk, and counterparty risk.
• Ability to build risk frameworks in fast-moving environments.
• Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with on-chain analytics or blockchain data.
• Python or data analysis experience.
