Senior Java Backend Engineer - Azure Microservices (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Java Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team in a remote capacity. This role involves designing, building, and maintaining scalable microservices in a cloud-native environment, specifically leveraging Azure technologies. As a Senior Java Backend Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the development of high-quality applications while taking ownership of deployment, maintenance, and continuous improvement processes.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop backend services using Java (Java 8+) and Spring Boot.
• Build and maintain microservices-based architectures and APIs (REST / SOAP).
• Develop, manage, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Azure DevOps.
• Deploy and manage applications on Microsoft Azure.
• Work with containerization tools like Docker.
• Manage builds and dependencies using Maven.
• Collaborate using Git for code reviews and branching strategies.
• Ensure end-to-end ownership: development, deployment, monitoring, and post-production support.
• Troubleshoot issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java (8 or higher) and Spring Boot.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture.
• Experience with REST and SOAP web services.
• Proven experience with Azure (deployments, repositories, code reviews).
• Strong CI/CD pipeline experience.
• Familiarity with Git, Jenkins, Maven, and development IDEs (Eclipse / IntelliJ).
• Experience working in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
