Senior Engineer - Autonomy Data Curation (Remote)

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Engineer - Autonomy Data Curation to join our innovative team at Skydio. As a leader in autonomous flight technology, Skydio is committed to empowering a diverse range of drone users. In this remote position, you will play a crucial role in building a data flywheel that enhances our autonomy systems.

What You'll Do

• Collect and curate high-quality datasets from internal and external drone fleets to support model development.
• Build and operate data pipelines that transform raw autonomy logs and media into reusable datasets.
• Develop tooling for fast and self-serve data discovery for Autonomy teams.
• Implement versioning, provenance, and automated checks to improve dataset quality.
• Ensure compliance with privacy and security requirements throughout data processes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on production systems.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python and C++.
• Hands-on experience with data pipelines for large-scale datasets (ETL/ELT).
• Solid understanding of reliability engineering practices.
• Ability to navigate ambiguous interfaces and drive decisions across teams.

Nice To Have

• Experience with autonomy or robotics data, including flight logs and sensor fusion traces.
• Familiarity with labeling workflows and annotation tooling.
• Understanding of privacy concepts and data handling best practices.
• Experience with vector or semantic search over media.
