Senior DevSecOps Engineer - E-7A Rapid Prototype Program

About the Role

We're hiring a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join our team at Haystack, a global leader in aerospace innovation and defense technology. In this remote position, you will be at the forefront of the E-7A Rapid Prototype Program, building high-integrity secure development environments that protect national interests. This is a rare chance to lead the architecture of mission-critical CI/CD pipelines using RKE2, EKS, and AWS. You won't just be maintaining systems; you'll be engineering robust, disconnected dev environments for one of the most sophisticated airborne platforms in the world.

What You'll Do

• Lead the design, testing, and verification of E-7A software engineering tools and DevSecOps operations across cloud and on-site disconnected environments.
• Develop and maintain Kubernetes-backed (RKE2 and EKS) tools supporting Maven, Gradle, and Python development pipelines.
• Architect and implement full-stack microservice infrastructure using Helm, Terraform, and Ansible to ensure rapid software delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate GitLab-CI, Artifactory, and SonarQube into a high-performance toolchain.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers while troubleshooting complex pipeline configurations and environment issues.

Requirements

• An active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (active within the last 24 months).
• 3+ years of deep experience in Linux Systems Administration and Kubernetes orchestration (EKS or RKE2).
• Proven expertise in AWS cloud development, containerization (Docker), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
• Strong programming and scripting proficiency in Python, Java, or C++.
• Experience managing modern DevSecOps toolsets including GitLab, Jenkins, Nexus, Prometheus, and FluentBit.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with security best practices in cloud environments.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
