About the Role

We're hiring a Senior Data Scientist - Analytics to join our dynamic team at Discord. As a key member of the Data Science & Analytics team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of gaming by leveraging data to enhance user experiences. This Senior Data Scientist remote position allows you to work from anywhere while collaborating with passionate individuals dedicated to making gaming more enjoyable.

What You'll Do

• Partner with teams throughout Discord to manage the full lifecycle of data science analytics, from ideation to exploratory analysis, dashboard creation, and A/B testing.
• Define KPIs and metrics that enhance user experience, encapsulating these measures in clean, actionable dashboards.
• Utilize our robust infrastructure to build custom data sets that monitor novel product features and processes.
• Proactively share insights, dashboards, and reports with both technical and non-technical audiences, soliciting feedback for continuous improvement.
• Champion A/B testing initiatives, assisting teams in designing, analyzing, and interpreting tests effectively.
• Collaborate with data and engineering teams to design scalable instrumentation for future-proof analytics.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in data science, autonomously translating ambiguous business problems into actionable insights through hands-on analytics.
• 4+ years of experience building performant dashboards using tools like Tableau or Looker, with a strong focus on clean visualizations.
• Proficiency in SQL with at least 4 years of experience writing complex queries.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex findings in an easily understandable manner.
• 4+ years of experience in designing, analyzing, and interpreting A/B tests in large data environments.
• A collaborative attitude and a natural curiosity to solve challenging problems.

Nice to Have

• Passion for Discord and online communities.
• Experience in technical leadership, acting as a point person for stakeholder groups.
• Familiarity with analytics for social media or subscription-based online services.
• Experience with user engagement and growth challenges.
• Proficiency in writing performant code in BigQuery SQL and production ETL processes.
