Senior Business Analyst - Default Operations (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst for Default Operations to join our dynamic team at BSI Financial Services. This remote position offers you the opportunity to work closely with our default operations teams within the US mortgage servicing sector. You will play a crucial role in enhancing operational efficiency by translating complex servicing workflows into structured, actionable specifications.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with default operations teams including loss mitigation, foreclosure, bankruptcy, and investor reporting to document current-state workflows, identify pain points, and uncover system gaps.
  • Elicit, write, and manage business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for AI-assisted workflows, utilizing tools such as Azure DevOps and Jira.
  • Build comprehensive process maps, swim-lane diagrams, and data flow documentation for end-to-end servicing workflows.
  • Facilitate requirements workshops and working sessions with US-based stakeholders across various time zones.
  • Support UAT planning, test case development, and defect triage in collaboration with QA and business teams.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities in default operations performance.
  • Drive adoption of new features through the creation of training materials, runbooks, and stakeholder feedback loops.
  • Manage dependencies and coordinate efforts across product, engineering, compliance, and operations teams.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, demonstrating ownership of end-to-end requirements for software or operational feature delivery.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong process documentation skills, including BRDs, user stories, process maps, swim-lane diagrams, and acceptance criteria.
  • Proficiency in Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar project/requirement tracking tools.
  • Comfortable working with data: ability to analyze reports, identify trends, validate data, and produce clear findings using Excel or BI tools.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
  • Acts with a sense of urgency; bias toward action and delivery.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with US mortgage servicing operations, including loss mitigation, default, foreclosure, bankruptcy, or investor reporting.
  • Prior exposure to mortgage default servicing platforms such as Sagent tools (LoanServ, Tempo, or related modules).
  • Understanding of GSE (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac), FHA/VA, and CFPB regulatory requirements relevant to default servicing.
  • Experience writing requirements for workflow automation, rule engines, or exception management tools.
