Senior Backend Software Engineer - AI Focus (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer (AI) to join our dynamic team. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the technical direction of our AI systems while working with a high-caliber team. You will take ownership of building and scaling robust, production-grade platforms used by enterprise customers.

What You'll Do

• Design and build core backend systems that power AI platform performance and reliability.
• Develop scalable services using Python and FastAPI.
• Own and evolve the data layer utilizing PostgreSQL and Supabase.
• Work across cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS, and implement CI/CD practices.
• Implement and scale observability tooling such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana.

Requirements

• Strong backend engineering experience with Python; FastAPI experience is a plus.
• Passionate about agentic AI, ideally conversational AI or AI agents.
• Understanding of PostgreSQL and data modeling.
• Experience building and owning CI/CD pipelines in production environments.
• Strong focus on testing, performance, and reliability.
• Hands-on experience with observability (logs, metrics, tracing).
• Background in building and scaling 0-1 systems in startup or high-growth environments.

Nice to Have

• Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or CDK.
• Familiarity with cloud-native architectures.
