About the Role

Optomi is seeking a Senior Kubernetes OpenShift Engineer to join our team in a fully remote capacity. This role is perfect for those who thrive in a collaborative environment and are looking to make an impact in the financial industry. As a Senior Kubernetes OpenShift Engineer, you will work primarily during EST hours, contributing your expertise in OpenShift and automation to enhance our Kubernetes environments.

What You'll Do

• Quickly onboard and contribute to active projects, ensuring a smooth transition into the team.
• Provide hands-on support for Kubernetes environments, focusing on Rancher and OpenShift.
• Collaborate closely with application and infrastructure teams to optimize deployment processes.
• Utilize Kubernetes command line scripting to manage and support operational tasks effectively.
• Engage in the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines, enhancing automation processes.

Requirements

• Strong background in Kubernetes, specifically with Rancher and OpenShift.
• Familiarity with VMWare environments and experience with monitoring tools.
• Proficient in CI/CD pipelines and Terraform is a plus.
• Solid scripting skills, particularly with Kubernetes CLI.
• Ability to navigate existing documentation and ramp up quickly on new projects.
• Strong soft skills for effective team collaboration and cross-functional work.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud-native technologies.
• Knowledge of container orchestration and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
