Senior Backend Engineer - Voice AI Platform

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Senior Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team at a fast-growing Voice AI startup. This Senior Backend Engineer remote position offers a unique opportunity to work on a platform that handles millions of AI-driven calls. You will be instrumental in building the backbone of our voice automation technology, which is rapidly becoming the standard in the industry.

What You'll Do

• Architect foundational systems including prompt orchestration, testing frameworks, observability dashboards, and telephony integrations.
• Design scalable backend systems and DevOps workflows to ensure reliable performance across millions of calls.
• Lead complex projects from architecture to production, taking ownership of delivery and monitoring.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to create intuitive APIs that facilitate rapid customer onboarding.
• Support customer onboarding, troubleshoot issues, and translate feedback into product improvements.

Requirements

• 3+ years of backend development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Ownership mindset with a passion for impactful software development.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
• Bonus: Experience in startups and knowledge of cloud infrastructure/DevOps.
