Senior Backend Engineer - Python/​Django Remote

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll be part of a dynamic Engineering Team that builds tools to unlock human potential through education.

What You'll Do

• Develop and own backend features using Python/Django, ensuring a seamless user experience.
• Support the creation of new backend services and troubleshoot integrations with third-party vendors.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, Designers, and Data Analysts, to deliver engaging features via A/B testing.
• Think beyond code — deeply understand customer needs and define solutions collaboratively.
• Guide the team in making informed technical decisions and improve best practices.
• Enhance monitoring and scalability of applications.
• Participate in squad on-call rotation (1 week every 5 weeks).

Requirements

• Experience with architectural patterns of large-scale web applications (well-designed APIs, high-volume data pipelines).
• Strong troubleshooting skills and a high level of ownership and responsibility.
• Willingness to support small JS/TS tasks when needed.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a minimum B2 level of English.
• Ability to navigate unfamiliar code and adapt quickly using AI tools.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience with Python is a plus, but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with other backend technologies such as Java, Node.js, or Ruby on Rails.
