Senior Back-end Engineer (Ruby) - Finance Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Back-end Engineer (Ruby) remote to join our dynamic team in the finance sector. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust back-end systems that support our financial applications. As a Senior Back-end Engineer (Ruby) remote, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest standards of performance and reliability in our systems.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable back-end systems using Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
• Implement RESTful APIs and GraphQL for seamless integration with front-end applications.
• Work with cloud technologies, particularly AWS, to enhance system performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with data engineers to optimize data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Participate in code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers.
• Ensure system security and compliance with industry standards.
• Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and system design discussions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Back-end Engineer, with a strong focus on Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
• Proven experience in developing transaction-heavy architectures.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially AWS and Azure.
• Experience with SQL and data warehousing concepts.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Golang and .NET technologies.
• Knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.
• Familiarity with incident management processes.
