About the Role

We are seeking a Romaji Lyric Transliteration Reviewer - Remote to join our team at Welocalize. In this role, you will evaluate machine-transliterated song lyrics, providing essential feedback that directly contributes to improving automated transliteration systems. This position offers a unique opportunity to work remotely while engaging with a global community of language specialists.

What You'll Do

  • Review and assess machine-transliterated lyrics for meaning, fluency, and naturalness.
  • Provide quality ratings based on predefined evaluation criteria.
  • Identify issues such as mistranslated words and correct the errors.
  • Maintain consistent and objective judgment throughout the review process.
  • Work flexibly, averaging 4 hours per day, with an ASAP start date.

Requirements

  • Native-level or near-native proficiency in Japanese is required.
  • Familiarity with different music genres is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of linguistic nuances and cultural context.
  • Ability to focus on detail and maintain concentration.
  • Previous experience in translation or localization is a plus.
  • Experience using online evaluation tools is a nice to have.
