We are seeking a talented Post-Doc Computer Vision Researcher to join our team at Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft. What You'll Do

  • Conduct in-depth technology analysis in the field of computer vision, utilizing state-of-the-art tools and frameworks such as OpenCV.
  • Identify relevant use cases and develop strategies for implementing computer vision solutions in industrial settings.
  • Engage with potential industry partners to foster collaborations and lead research projects.
  • Present your findings and experiences at conferences and networking events, showcasing your contributions to the field.
  • Supervise students and assist in the development of academic theses and dissertations related to computer vision.

Requirements

  • A completed PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related fields with a focus on AI/ML and computer vision.
  • Strong practical experience in machine learning and deep learning, particularly with time-series, sensor, or image data.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and/or C++, as well as familiarity with machine learning frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras.
  • Excellent communication and networking skills, with a passion for building partnerships in the industry.
  • Fluent in both German and English, with strong writing and speaking abilities.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with third-party funding projects, including proposal writing and project management.
  • Knowledge of embedded/edge computing technologies and industrial communication protocols.
