Research Associate - Cell Culture Science (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Research Associate in Cell Culture Science to join our innovative team at Proteros biostructures. This Research Associate - Cell Culture Science remote position allows you to contribute to recombinant protein expression across various expression systems, including insect, mammalian, bacterial, and yeast cells. You will play a crucial role in our drug discovery projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic and supportive environment.

What You'll Do

• Conduct expression of recombinant proteins using both classic and high-throughput cell culture techniques.
• Handle and cultivate diverse expression systems such as insect cells, mammalian cells, E. coli, and yeast.
• Perform small- and large-scale expression experiments, screenings, and fermentation processes.
• Execute cell biology workflows, including transformation/transfection, plasmid DNA preparation, and baculovirus amplification.
• Analyze proteins using a wide range of biochemical and biophysical methods.
• Document all experimental steps accurately according to internal guidelines and customer requirements.
• Collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary project teams within an industrial drug discovery environment.

Requirements

• Successfully completed training as CTA/MTA/BTA, chemistry/biology laboratory assistant, or a degree in life sciences (no doctorate).
• Hands-on experience in cell culture with at least one of the following systems: insect, mammalian, bacterial, or yeast.
• A structured, careful, and quality-oriented approach to work, even when managing multiple tasks.
• High motivation, curiosity, and enjoyment of innovative and challenging tasks.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Experience with data maintenance and evaluation, ideally using LIMS systems.
• Good MS Office skills and proficiency in English and German.
• Strong organizational skills, particularly in managing laboratory projects.
