Remote Network Engineer - IP Analysis and Configuration
About the Role
We are looking for a Remote Network Engineer to assist our lead network engineer in conducting IP usage analysis. This role involves collecting and processing data related to routing tables, IP Address Management (IPAM), DHCP configurations, and more. As a Remote Network Engineer, you will play a crucial part in optimizing network resources and ensuring efficient IP address utilization.
What You'll Do
- Assist in the analysis of IP usage by gathering source data, including routing tables, DHCP configurations, and DNS records.
- Process data using Microsoft Excel, including sorting and removing duplicates.
- Review network device configurations to develop change plans for freeing up IP addresses.
- Collaborate with the lead network engineer to identify candidate networks for IP address optimization.
- Document network configurations and changes for future reference.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a Network Engineer with a focus on configuring routers and switches.
- Strong knowledge of network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Familiarity with routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
- Proficient in IP network subnetting.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel for data processing and reporting.
Nice to Have
- Experience with scripting languages such as VBA for data processing.
- Technical leadership experience in a network engineering context.
- Familiarity with H3C and Juniper routers.
