QA Engineer I - Remote Position at PriceLabs

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled QA Engineer I remote to join our dynamic team at PriceLabs. This role demands a strong foundation in manual testing complemented by mandatory hands-on automation experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our platform through comprehensive testing strategies. This is a hybrid role, with approximately 70-80% manual testing and 20-30% automation, where automation is a core expectation, not optional. The position is fully remote and open to candidates residing in India. The successful candidate will work closely with developers and product teams to deliver high-quality releases, identify and log bugs, and develop automation scripts to streamline testing processes. What You'll Do

• Perform functional, regression, exploratory, and usability testing to ensure product quality.
• Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive test cases, test plans, and test scenarios.
• Identify, log, and track bugs with clear reproduction steps, ensuring timely resolution.
• Conduct API testing, including validation, authentication, and edge case testing using Postman.
• Write, execute, and maintain automation test scripts using Cypress or similar frameworks.
• Validate backend data by executing SQL queries to ensure data integrity.
• Utilize Git for version control, including branching, commits, and pull requests.
• Use shell/CLI tools for debugging, validation, and automation tasks.
• Collaborate with developers and product teams during release cycles to ensure quality standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing processes and automation frameworks.

Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years of QA experience in product-based or SaaS environments.
• Strong expertise in manual testing fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience in test automation, specifically with Cypress or similar JS-based frameworks.
• Proficiency in API testing using Postman.
• Solid understanding of SQL, including joins, aggregations, and data validation.
• Working knowledge of Git commands for version control.
• Basic understanding of shell scripting and CLI tools.
• Good understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, and status codes.
• Experience with bug tracking tools such as JIRA or ClickUp.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
