Principal Officer (Advisor), Programmatic Impact - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a Principal Officer (Advisor), Programmatic Impact to join our team remotely. This role is pivotal in strengthening the foundation's programmatic collaborations with the Global Fund and WHO, ensuring effective implementation of our institutional engagement strategies.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate actively with Directors and Deputy Directors, particularly in the HIV, TB, Malaria, and MNCH health teams, to inform their programmatic strategies in relation to the Global Fund and WHO.
  • Advise Program Strategy Teams (PSTs) on programmatic investments related to the Global Fund and WHO, reviewing investments on behalf of the Global Health Agencies and Funds (GHAF).
  • Identify and develop co-investment opportunities between GHAF and PSTs/ARO for investments in relation to Global Fund and WHO.
  • Maintain active relationships with disease and technical teams in the Global Fund and WHO, supporting effective collaboration with foundation programmatic teams.
  • Represent the foundation on the Global Fund’s Grant Approvals Committee, engaging with PSTs/ARO and reporting on key issues.
  • Develop short technical papers on disease and cross-disease issues to inform our programmatic and governance positions with the Global Fund and WHO.
  • Engage in the development and revisions of the foundation’s institutional engagement strategies for the Global Fund and WHO, providing technical and strategic input.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience at a senior level in international health, particularly in HIV, TB, and/or malaria.
  • Experience in technical and programmatic leadership within Global Fund and WHO.
  • Strong skills in strategy implementation and change management.
  • Ability to cultivate trust and manage relationships with flexibility and diplomacy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience advocating to diverse audiences.

  • Experience working in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 30% of the time.
  • Strong understanding of key strategic levers and frameworks guiding organizational decisions.
