Principal DevOps Engineer - Remote Opportunities Available

What You'll Do

• Assist in designing, configuring, and maintaining infrastructure and cloud resources necessary for hosting applications throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Create and maintain continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline development processes.
• Write scripts and configurations to automate software testing, deployment, and maintenance, adhering to software engineering best practices.
• Proactively monitor build and deployment pipelines, troubleshoot issues, and resolve errors to ensure smooth operations.
• Automate infrastructure and cloud resource deployments using infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Remediate findings from vulnerability scanning and penetration testing to enhance security.
• Mentor team members informally on DevOps concepts and processes to foster a collaborative environment.
• Collaborate with peers and business partners to identify workflows where automation can improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience as a Principal DevOps Engineer with a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field; or 3 years with a Master's; or 1 year with a PhD; or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and willing to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD security clearance (Secret, Top Secret, etc.).
• 5 years of experience with build tools (e.g., Maven, Ant) and continuous integration environments (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab).
• 5 years of experience with Microsoft and Linux Red Hat operating systems.
• 5 years of experience with scripting languages (e.g., PERL, Python, Bash).
• 3 years of experience with Kubernetes implementation and Day 2 Operations in a CI/CD Pipeline.
• 3 years of experience with VMware Cloud Foundation, Terraform, vCenter, or similar virtual provisioning technologies.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Nice to Have

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
• Active DoD Secret clearance with a recent reinvestigation date.
• IAT II certification (e.g., Security + CE) or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Experience with automation/configuration management using Ansible, Chef, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with container hardening and SBOM.
