About the Role

We are seeking a Guidance & Control Design Review Systems Engineering Manager 2 to join our team at Northrop Grumman. This remote position offers the chance to lead a talented group of engineers while working on revolutionary systems that impact lives globally. As a leader in the Defense Systems sector, you will oversee a Systems Engineering group, ensuring technical excellence and fostering a culture of innovation.

What You'll Do

  • Provide leadership for a Systems Engineering organization, managing performance reviews, career development, and staffing.
  • Engage in technical program work, dedicating approximately 80% of your time to current and future projects.
  • Support employee development through mentoring and training initiatives.
  • Manage cost and schedule aspects of design review-related work packages.
  • Collaborate with specialty teams to prepare for design reviews according to program specifications.
  • Track action items from design reviews and drive them to closure.
  • Lead a team of systems engineers, leveraging skills in Model-Based Systems Engineering (Cameo) and Requirements Management (DOORS).
  • Foster a working environment that emphasizes accountability and Northrop Grumman's core values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) with a minimum of 8 years of related experience, or a master’s degree with 4 years of experience.
  • Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at the time of application.
  • Experience in Program Execution, Engineering Metrics, and Training resources.
  • At least 1 year of experience leading projects and driving performance against schedules.
  • Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management tools and Earned Value Certification.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in a related discipline.
  • Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance.
  • Experience in People and Technical Leadership roles.
  • 2 years of experience with program control, budgeting, and staffing.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
