Alternate Information Systems Security Manager (AISSM) - Remote
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Alternate Information Systems Security Manager (AISSM) remote to join our team at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). In this role, you will provide complex and dynamic security support to various LLNL, Department of Energy (DOE), and customer missions. Your expertise will contribute to our mission of advancing science and technology to strengthen U.S. security and promote global stability.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with the FIE’s Cyber Manager and stakeholders to identify cybersecurity requirements for assigned systems.
- Architect and engineer enterprise-wide systems to meet cybersecurity requirements, including maintaining Risk Management Framework (RMF) documentation.
- Assess and mitigate system security threats and risks, analyzing security events to ensure the integrity of the security posture.
- Lead the preparation and maintenance of Body of Evidence artifacts, including Information System Security Plans.
- Coordinate cybersecurity requirements for existing and new systems with DOE and DoD to ensure mission accomplishment.
- Perform security audits and continuous monitoring activities on assigned information systems.
- Provide security architecture guidance to ensure compliance with LLNL, DOE, and external customer requirements.
- Represent LLNL’s Field Intelligence Element at external sites, communicating security posture and compliance status.
Requirements
- Active DOE Q-level clearance or active Top Secret clearance from another U.S. government agency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Advanced experience as an ISSO or AISSM managing classified systems in DOD, DOE, or IC environments.
- Strong understanding of federal security regulations and Risk Management Framework (RMF).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Experience leading internal information system security audits and assessments.
- Advanced communication skills for developing relationships with stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- 10+ years of experience as an IT Systems Architect/Engineer or Cyber Security Professional.
- DoD Approved 8570 A Assurance Manager (IAM) Level II or III Certification.
- Experience with DISA STIGs and SCAP Compliance Checker.
