Open Rank Engineering Technology Faculty Position - Remote Opportunities

About the Role

We are seeking an Open Rank Engineering Technology Faculty member to join Southern Utah University (SUU). This full-time faculty position offers a unique opportunity to teach and mentor students in Engineering Technology, with a focus on CAD software and design. As an Engineering Technology Faculty member, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our students and the program.

What You'll Do

• Teach undergraduate courses in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, BIM, and related design applications.
• Develop and assess curriculum that fosters student engagement and learning outcomes.
• Mentor and advise undergraduate students, helping them navigate their academic and professional journeys.
• Participate in departmental decision-making regarding pedagogy and curriculum design.
• Conduct scholarly activities and contribute to a dynamic learning environment.
• Maintain labs and design software environments, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure programs remain flexible and responsive to student and industry needs.
• Actively engage in assessment and accreditation efforts, including documentation for ABET continuous improvement.

Requirements

• A Master's degree or Ph.D. in Civil Engineering Technology, Architectural Engineering Technology, Architecture, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated knowledge of CAD software commonly used in civil and architectural design.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Commitment to excellence in undergraduate education and student mentorship.
• Ability to manage technology-focused projects and laboratory environments.

Nice to Have

• Relevant industry experience with CAD software and design.
• Teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
• Hands-on professional experience in civil, architectural, or construction design projects.
• Experience with ABET accreditation of technology or engineering programs.
• Industry certifications in software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, BIM tools, or similar.
