Mill Operative - Food Production (Gainsborough)

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mill Operative remote position in our Kerry Team in Gainsborough, Co. Lincolnshire. This is a full-time, permanent position where you will be working on an 8-hour shift, rotating between days, evenings, and nights from Monday to Friday. As a Mill Operative, you will play a crucial role in the continuous development of your production area, supporting the delivery of the site plan. You will work together with your team on various processes, including wheat cleaning, mill process, flour heat treatment, and mill hygiene.

What You'll Do

• Handle Raw Materials: Oversee the intake, transfer, and preparation of raw materials to ensure high-quality flour.
• Maintain Quality and Efficiency: Ensure product quality, minimize waste, and keep the plant running efficiently.
• Monitor Machinery: Regularly inspect and maintain mill machinery to prevent issues and ensure smooth operations.
• Team Collaboration: Work with your team to deliver the production plan and maintain a safe, efficient work environment.
• Record Keeping: Accurately record and maintain paperwork to support product traceability and quality.
• Problem Solving: Address and solve non-engineering issues with machinery to minimize stoppages and improve efficiency.
• Training and Flexibility: Receive training in various areas to increase skills and flexibility, covering different tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Good spoken and written English.
• Good numeracy and interpretation of data skills.
• Food safety certificate; health & safety qualification (desirable).
• Previous SAP knowledge (desirable).
• Experience of automated process lines.
• Previous flour milling or food production experience (desirable).
• NABIM qualifications (highly advantageous).
• Basic IT skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Outlook.
