Mid-Senior Data Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We're looking for a talented Data Engineer to join our mission-driven team at a stealth startup. As a Data Engineer remote, you'll play a crucial role in building and scaling our data acquisition and enrichment infrastructure, ensuring our simulations are accurate and impactful. What You'll Do

• Design and build scalable data ingestion pipelines for diverse sources, including public datasets and proprietary data.
• Develop the data enrichment layer that integrates behavioral data with demographic profiles and consumer behavior markers.
• Build and maintain systems for processing unique data types, such as foot-traffic patterns and trade area demographics.
• Implement data quality monitoring and validation to ensure incoming data meets accuracy thresholds.
• Collaborate with AI/ML and research teams to identify and integrate new data sources that enhance simulation fidelity.
• Own the data infrastructure that serves enriched datasets to the simulation pipeline efficiently.

Requirements

• Proven experience building production data pipelines that process data from multiple heterogeneous sources at scale.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with both OLTP and analytical databases.
• Comfortable with the full data lifecycle: acquisition, cleaning, transformation, storage, and serving.
• Experience working with geospatial data, census datasets, or similar public/proprietary data sources.
• Ability to work independently to scope, plan, and execute data infrastructure projects.

Nice to Have

• Experience with geospatial processing techniques, such as reverse geocoding and trade area analysis.
• Familiarity with demographic modeling or population statistics.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines for alternative data sources.
