About the Role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineering Department Manager to join our innovative team at Northrop Grumman. What You'll Do

  • Provide oversight and assistance to programs within the Division portfolio, including Sentinel GBSD and ICBM Sustainment.
  • Analyze current release processes, identifying gaps and resolutions to ensure design review milestones are met.
  • Lead improvements in employee engagement, hiring, development, and retention of top talent within the design department.
  • Mentor and develop section managers and the overall employee base, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.
  • Support proposal work, independent technical reviews, program stand-up, audits, and special assignments as needed.
  • Create and manage high-performing teams, providing technical, administrative, and management expertise for complex engineering programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and 8 years of relevant experience; 6 years with a Master’s degree.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date within the last 6 years.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP).
  • At least 1 year of experience in the Aerospace or Defense field.
  • 3 years of experience as CAM and/or EVMS.
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior management and peers.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working on ICBMs and leading sustainment technical scope of work.
  • Active TS Clearance and familiarity with Agile engineering and Jira.
  • Experience managing an engineering team and creating or growing new sections or departments.
