Mechanical Design Engineer - Remote Opportunities Available

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team remotely. This Mechanical Design Engineer remote position offers a unique opportunity to work with a prominent industrial machinery manufacturer, supporting growing project demands. You will take designs from customer approval through manufacturing release and support builds on the shop floor.

What You'll Do

• Design custom industrial machinery using SolidWorks, focusing on sheet metal, weldments, and multibody parts.
• Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings for fabrication and assembly.
• Finalize designs after customer submittal approval and release manufacturing packages.
• Support builds through production and troubleshoot technical issues with manufacturing and service teams.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and design reviews.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with welders, machinists, assemblers, and engineers to ensure manufacturability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) required.
• Minimum of 2 years of machine design experience; 5+ years preferred.
• Extremely strong SolidWorks skills, particularly in sheet metal design.
• Exposure to AutoCAD for legacy drawings.
• Experience with custom machinery/OEM equipment and fabrication environments.
• Familiarity with pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Strong soft skills: time management, meeting deadlines, and practical problem-solving.
• Practical, hands-on design mindset focused on manufacturability.

Nice to Have

• Strong communication skills for collaboration with welders, machinists, and assemblers.
• Ability to own projects from start to finish.
• Willingness to relocate if necessary.
