We are seeking a Manager, Legal Counsel (Regulatory Compliance) - Remote to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will oversee regulatory compliance matters and provide legal counsel to ensure our operations align with applicable laws and regulations. What You'll Do

  • Lead the development and implementation of compliance frameworks across the organization.
  • Provide legal advice on regulatory matters, including U.S. compliance and licensing issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to legal standards and best practices.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support business objectives.
  • Manage contract negotiations and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Oversee compliance training programs for employees to foster a culture of compliance.
  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations that may impact the organization.
  • Support the customer success team in addressing legal inquiries and concerns.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 3-5 years of experience in regulatory compliance or legal counsel roles.
  • Strong understanding of compliance frameworks and legal research methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in the tech industry or SaaS environment is a plus.
  • Proficiency in contract negotiation and legal documentation.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in fintech or e-commerce sectors.
  • Knowledge of OSFI guidelines and consumer protection laws.
  • Fluency in additional languages.
