Laboratory Technician - Biotech Research

About the Role

ATB Therapeutics is seeking a dedicated Laboratory Technician remote to join our innovative team in Ghent. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in executing experiments and reporting data that contribute to our mission of developing targeted therapies for cancer and auto-immune diseases. You will work closely with our Principal Scientist and collaborate with a team of passionate professionals.

What You'll Do

• Execute molecular biology techniques, including RNA/DNA isolation and purification, PCR, digestion, and transformation to generate phage libraries.
• Develop and apply protein-based assays (ELISA, biacore) and cell-based assays (flow cytometry) for in vitro screening and characterization of antibodies.
• Support day-to-day lab and experimental workflows, ensuring timely execution of project activities.
• Present experimental data and findings to the manager and team regularly.
• Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory records in compliance with industry standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a scientific field with 2-4 years of relevant industry experience.
• Proficient in fundamental cell and molecular biology assays (SDS-PAGE, ELISA, and other methods).
• Hands-on experience in basic cell culture (cancer cell lines, PBMCs).
• Direct experience with phage display technology is a plus.
• Experience with flow cytometry or SPR technology is an advantage.
• Excellent organization, clear communication, and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to multitask and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Nice to Have

• Experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical setting.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance in laboratory environments.
• Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols.
