Kafka & SIEM Integration Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Kafka & SIEM Integration Engineer to join our team remotely. In this role, you will support our customer in Camp Pendleton, CA, and be responsible for integrating Kafka and SIEM systems. You will leverage your strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills to ensure the effective operation of our systems.

What You'll Do

• Provide expertise in Linux and Linux commands, SQL, and KQL to maintain existing systems.
• Utilize your knowledge of Confluent/Kafka for effective navigation and management.
• Implement SSL/TLS for data encryption and ensure secure communications.
• Develop data pipelines using programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, or Node.js.
• Manage data governance and schema management with Avro and JSON Schema.
• Monitor and maintain the health of Confluent and Kafka architectures, ensuring data flows are optimized.
• Execute government-approved security policies and conduct vulnerability audits.
• Teach, coach, and mentor team members to enhance their technical skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
• 7 years of professional experience in systems administration.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (CCNA, CYSA+, CND, Sec+).
• Active DoD SECRET eligibility is required.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with the team.

Nice to Have

• Experience with defensive cyber operations and compliance with Marine Corps IAVM.
• Familiarity with Tenable SecurityCenter for vulnerability management.
• Knowledge of Kafka architecture, including brokers, topics, and consumers.
