Junior Route-based Officer - Displacement Tracking Matrix (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a Junior Route-based Officer to join our team remotely. In this role, you will support the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) initiatives, contributing to vital research and analysis efforts that impact migration policies and practices globally.

What You'll Do

• Assist in qualitative and mixed-methods data analysis for route-based research initiatives, focusing on migration routes in West and Central Africa.
• Support the production of route-based analytical outputs, including thematic reports, presentations, and infographics.
• Contribute to the analysis and preparation of outputs related to intention surveys targeting Syrian migrants.
• Help develop and refine data collection tools and methodological guidance to enhance route-based work.
• Draft thematic content for global route-based analytical products, collaborating with various teams.
• Prepare and review data products, reports, and web content for the DTM data portal.
• Respond to data and information requests by compiling and presenting relevant information.
• Assist in implementing joint initiatives with UNHCR to harmonize data collection methodologies.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Social and Political Sciences, Development Studies, Information Management, Migration Studies, or a related field; or a University degree with two years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience with data visualization and publication software, including Adobe Illustrator and InDesign.
• At least two years of relevant professional experience in data analysis, research, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in qualitative and/or quantitative data analysis.
• Excellent writing skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly.

Nice to Have

• Experience working in the United Nations or other international development organizations.
• Familiarity with qualitative analysis software such as NVivo or ATLAS.ti.
• Working knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish).
