ICT Infrastructure Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking an ICT Infrastructure Engineer to join our innovative team at TNO. This remote ICT Infrastructure Engineer position offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of Europe’s photonics innovation, contributing to the development of cutting-edge manufacturing technologies.

What You'll Do

  • Support and maintain the IT infrastructure that enables daily operations across our manufacturing and engineering environment.
  • Collaborate with IT colleagues, engineers, and production teams to ensure that infrastructure systems remain stable, secure, and aligned with operational requirements.
  • Manage desktop and end-user support, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
  • Oversee infrastructure operations and systems management, including administration, monitoring, and maintenance of servers, storage, virtualization platforms, and network systems.
  • Execute ITIL/ITSM processes such as Incident, Change, Problem, Asset, and Configuration Management.
  • Support the implementation and operation of security controls, monitoring security alerts, and investigating potential incidents.
  • Maintain documentation of infrastructure configurations, procedures, and workflows.
  • Contribute to infrastructure performance improvements and automation initiatives that enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Approximately 3-7 years of experience in IT infrastructure, system administration, or a related technical role.
  • Solid knowledge of IT infrastructure components, including servers, networking, virtualization platforms, and storage systems.
  • Experience supporting desktop environments and end-user systems in a professional IT environment.
  • Familiarity with ITIL or ITSM processes such as Incident, Change, and Problem Management.
  • Basic understanding of IT security principles, including access management and endpoint security.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including IT, engineering, production, and external vendors.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in high-tech or semiconductor manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of automation tools and scripting languages.
  • Certifications in relevant IT fields (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft).
