About the Role

Join Motorola Solutions as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) and play a pivotal role in enhancing our software engineering projects. This remote Site Reliability Engineer position allows you to work from anywhere while contributing to the safety of communities through innovative technology.

What You'll Do

• Diagnose complex, high-impact issues in live production environments, ensuring reliability and performance.
• Dive into application source code (Java/Angular) to identify and fix bugs, memory leaks, and race conditions.
• Design resilient infrastructure that withstands failures and enhances system architecture.
• Build internal tooling to empower engineers and automate repetitive tasks, improving efficiency.
• Participate in incident response as part of the on-call rota, addressing major outages swiftly.
• Optimize the entire stack, including database queries and network configurations, for peak performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• 4+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong communication skills and experience with incident response in enterprise environments.
• Proficiency in developing cloud-based applications (Azure/AWS) and REST-based APIs.
• Familiarity with modern DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, and high-availability architecture.
• Creativity and persistence in solving complex problems, with a passion for learning.

Nice to Have

• Experience with observability and monitoring tools.
• Knowledge of automated testing practices.
• Previous experience in a Site Reliability Engineer role.
